The concept of the new ‘House of Nails’ salon is inspired by ladies’ habit when pampernig, where they come in a groups, so they need a more interactive and not stiff space. The salon will have group seating, just like any other living area where the customer can have some bonding time, chit-chatting, or even discussing work with collague while pampering. The desired look and ambience would be like the elegant and chic executive lounge, which is specialy designed for the ‘executive’ customers of the nail salon. Other than that, the salon will also have a hint of cheerfulness and playfulness, by using bright coloured furniture, with a balance of neutral and grey colour on other parts of the space. Overall the salon will need  to be a very inviting and comfortable place to enjoy and relax.

TED BAKER

Pop-Up Store

Ted Baker is a British clothing and accessories company that has hundreds of branches worldwide. As Ted Baker is always taking the essence of the local culture of its location, this time the pop-up store in Singapore is inspired by the orchid flower, which is the national flower of Singapore. The zoning and space planning of the store is done following the shape of an orchid flower.  Visually, the pop-up store will look very pleasing and welcoming. The store will have simple style and minimal display, contrary to the usual Ted Baker store which is heavily displayed and cluttered. Instead of using dark colored materials, the pop-up store will be filled with slightly vibrant color, such as violet shade from the orchid flower, complementary pastel color, white, and combination of champagne color. Overall, the pop up store will look different from the actual Ted Baker store by being more simple, bright and more vibrant, yet still maintaining its original elegant vibe.
